This photo is the Foley family in front of their home in Kane, PA about 1908/9. My Great Grandparents, Henry James FOLEY and Mary Alice REED (REID), are standing on the left.
Dating the photo was primarily done through visual evidence. There is one infant in the foreground. On close inspection, Mary Alice appears to have suffered a stroke shortly before this was taken. She gave birth to her last child, Clorn (cir 1908-09). Both she and the child had died by 1909. Alice's daughter, Lorraine, was born in 1908. Two infant's should have been in the photo. The infant could be Clorn, but is more likely Alice's daughter Lorraine. .
Next to Mary Alice are her three oldest daughters, Mary Francis "Mae", Alice, and Lucy.
Kneeling in the front of the photo are great uncle Walter and my grandfather William Raymond "Ray" FOLEY with uncle Stephen Eugene (age 5). Not all the children are identified. Next to the infant is Elmer (age 7). Two of the older girls are Hazel (age 9) and Lucy's daughter Winfred (age 11) was born in Sept. of 1897, the third is unknown. The boy with the dog is probably John Henry's oldest son, Claude James, born cir. 1905.
John Henry's son Leo Earl was born cir 1910. Mae's son (by her first husband) L.G. "Jerry" was born in 1909.
